Rambling...

Loss is like a wound that never truly heals, the wound can be opened fresh at anytime, the pain is still there, but as time passes the pain changes too. It evolves as the grief and sadness change, from shock. to raw emotional and physical pain, to anger and confusion, to a sense of loss and emptiness, to loneliness and isolation, even a period of depression to a sense of realization and acceptance. To be able to recognize that all of those feelings and more, can wash over us at anytime, reminding us again and again of the pain of loss. Yet each time the wound is opened and closed ,we can handle the pain a little better, and allow ourselves to surrender to the emotions we have, that though the wound is never ending, with everyday, week, month or year that passes, time will make the heartache and pain we bear a little more palatable and a little less traumatic with each occurrence. The key is to grieve in your own time and your own way, grieve until you are ready to stand up brush yourself off and continue living every minute and know that there is no "cure" for grief and it never leaves, we grow to accept it as a part of ourselves and learn to embrace the release it offers us from time to time.
